Each week, Wendy the witch, Nicole the gardener, and Eva the curator will move between Piedra, Papel, y Tijeras— eventually connecting all three when the time is right. For now, as we set up in one classroom, we invite amigues to join if their curiosity calls.
From day 1 of Tuesday Labs to now we have read, moved, sung, photographed, cut, smooshed, glued, rolled, squeezed, danced, drew, imagined, sounded out, wiggled, waved and then took notes.
This blog is and will be proof of the magic of working amongst little ones

A love letter from Witch Wendy:
I loved being the honorary witch in the lab today with Eva, Nicole and the whole Mi Casita Coven and I experienced magic in play, story, song, and imagination that your children created.
This morning we were in Papel, and we started with worms and pumpkins and that alone is very witchy.
Then a banana peel appeared at snack and we wondered if it was a boat for the worms or a birthday cake, or a hammock, or a house or an I don’t know, or all the things all at once.
Then we gathered at Circulo, and I was able to learn all of your children’s names, letters and history. P is for Pedro which is also the name el abuelo de Eva. P is also for papá and papá del papá del papá, which reminds us of Día de los Muertos, Which reminds of Halloween, which brings us back to brujas.
We found hidden pumpkins and sang this song with our witchy laughs:
5 little pumpkins sitting on a fence,
a witch came riding bye.
Hee hee hee, I’ll take you home,
and make some pumpkin pie.
Nicole has the the best witchy laugh. And Matilda looked at me and stated, “It’s so funny.”
Then we played and learned with worms and pumpkins. The worms wiggled on the light table. We counted them, observed them, and named them. One worm was named Sami. Then there was Itai, Tata, among others. Some of the Tijera amigues joined Papel in worm work.
In the pumpkin area, Eva and Nicole were feeling the squish of pulp and counting seeds. León nos conto, “Es que no puedo tocar. Me da cosa.”
Then as we got ready to leave, we revisited a question we had discussed last week about gusanos y humanos.
Do worms eat leaves? Do humans eat leaves?
Children expressed that no worms and no humans eat leaves, as we all ate some tiny broccoli leaves.
So this is the work and the magic of the lab.
Send us your feedback your photos of humans, worms, and anything you notice eating leaves, and we will keep wilding, wondering and witching together.
