LOVE, LOVE, LOVELOVELOVE AMOU AMOU AMOU

🐜 Guiding Ideas 🐜
Again we invited another ant colony ( the school leader from anther school), and continued both with the all school ants themed lab and the Brainstorm Food & News Hotel.

This time we set up all the ant murals, past and present, on the floor with ALL kinds of materials. No rules, no limitations.

We are finally ready to take the Brainstorm Food and News Hotel on the “road.” Equipped with the gift envelopes amigues made in past LABs, we set up the kiosko outside so amigues could surprise neighbors with a fortune.

Ingredients for today’s lab

KIOSKO+ ANTS + and every material we could, beautifully laid out throughout the classrooms so that amigues could choose where their interests took them,

What just happened?

Peggy from Maple Street School was invited to join. She gifted Mi Casita the loveliest lovesong, which taught us how to say ♥️AMOR♥️ in Creole, Hebrew, Japanese and Polish. In preparation for gifting the community, after teaching us her song, the amigues chose a special envelop for Peggy, inside she found the words: Be hope with a very pointy seed pod, likely from a Trapa natans seed commonly called a water caltrop.

Here is the link so you can sing it at home!

Love Love LoveLoveLove (in Creole) Amou Amou Amou (x2)‍ ‍

I stand for you * You stand for me * Yes we are brave in our community

Brainstorm with Arielle and Maribel: At the Brainstorm Food & News Hotel, hosted in Piedra, amigues can “buy” their own snacks from the maestres and eat with amigues of all ages. It’s an opportunity to eat with older and younger friedns while Brainstorming ideas about ants, and snacks, and friends and volcanoes.

Ant math with Claudia, Clay and pulp Ant Hill building with Rafa, polkadots with Peggy and Wendy, glue, collage, loose parts, markers, crayons, paint, freedom, soil, dots, watercolors, plastic ants, pompoms, buttons, coffee filters and such with Nicole, Jessica, Naidely, and Eva. While the ants inside explored the space inside, Camila and Isabel went outside with rotating amigues to share with them their fortunes. We were even so lucky as to have Isa, our neighbor friend from Welcome Home bakery as Toly’s mamá and new sister join us!

Last week, while joining amiges at lunchtime in Papel (eva):

Ursi come fresas. Según Ursi, Hormigas comen pan dulce.

Camille come salmon, y hormigas comen dulces riquisimos.

Ursi sabe porque tuvo que proteger al pan dulce para que la hromigas no se lo llevaran.

Niko también come fresas. Theo las come con bananas y las hormigas también.

Aliya, “I come apples, and ants eat dirt.” Ursi says they dig dirt and eat flowers.

Ants eat blueberries and Zoya eats blueberries.

Levi east carrots and mashes ants. Aliya and Ursi do too. Ursi then asks me what I eat? Oliver loves strawberries, and Zoya loves Maribel casue she’s my favorite teacher.

Also, Ursi doesn’t like poop, but “Everybody poops,” Tino reminds us. Niko reminds us that Ants poop, and Oliver reminds us that “Bulls poop.” Zoya likes to poop becasue it feels good. Levi poops and (I believe I understood) Wookie pooped in the pool, and then one wise soul added “We poop pasta but pasta doesn’t poop.”
